WordPress training evening 28th March 2019
James Lutener gave a great insight of how to get up and started with building a website with WordPress. As of February 2017, WordPress powers 58.7% of all the websites whose content management system is known. From using the right theme to adding widgets and installing plugins, a lot goes into making the perfect WordPress site. The talk enabled members without experience to reach a level where it is possible for them to update the makerspace website.
This is a very critical time for WordPress, the new block editor in the latest version is the biggest change in recent years and will significantly change the way WordPress is used. This potentially involves changing themes and pluging-ins. The significant amount of work involved in doing such changes has caused users to call for a fork of the legacy WordPress from the latest version with the new editor. Indeed, the Makerspace has had to change the theme used for our website.
This workshop was typical of many at the Makerspace, leveraging the knowledge of one member to get other members up and running quickly. Why not come along and try something you have not done before?
